THE ETHNOCRATIC COLLECTION was born out of a desire to do "common things uncommonly different." The ankara fabric is unarguably one of the most popularly used fabrics in global fashion at the moment.
Fashion audiences all around the world have witnessed a revolution of the ankara fabric being made into different outfits and accessories, but Artsmith chose to put an urban spin to this venerated trend by
pairing ankara with costume earrings to create very tasteful pieces. Every piece in "THE ETHNOCRAT COLLECTION" is a breath of fresh air in the saturated market for ankara accessories. That's the collection's
unique selling point. It is noteworthy to add that some of the pieces from the collection were featured in Tee Threads fashion showcase at the recently held African Fashion Week London (AFWL) 2012.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Gbenga Dada is the young jewelry designer behind the fast-growing brand, Artsmith Collections. He has always had a creative streak in him since he was a child, but he never dreamt of delving into the world of jewellery design until destiny compelled him to make a foray into jewelry making. He began his training in jewelry design about six
years ago to keep his hands busy during a time he was still seeking admission into higher institution. Five years down the line, the brand that started with just a spool of fishing line and some strands of broken pieces has grown in leaps and bounds.
