NIGERIAN FASHION BRAND – NONNISTICS SET TO SHOWCASE AT THE NEWYORK FASHION WEEK

 

One of Nigeria’s fast rising and versatile design house – Nonnistics will be participating at the prestigious New York Fashion week this season.  Creative director- Nonye Goodie – Obi  ,who will  be representing  Nigeria this year, will be showcasing the ERIN collection on Saturday 7^th September at the Pier 59 , Chealsea Piers , Newyork. The fashion week which will be taking place from the  5th to 11th September has other top brands like – Margret Garisson(USA) , Empire Collection ( UK), Arti (Australia ) , Lontessa(Singapore) etc also in attendance .

 

About Nonnistics

The brand Nonnistics is a versatile design house operating from Lagos, Nigeria. Their first international debut was at the Glitz Africa Fashion Week in Accra in 2018 . It was via this platform the brand unveiled its soon to be launched bridal line which has since become one of the top bridal brands in Nigeria. Nonnistics as a clothing label started operations in November 2017. In October 2018, the brand CEO won an industry award as The Most Versatile Designer of the Year and was nominated for another industry award alongside older brands for The Best Designer of The Year Award. In a short while, the Nonnistics brand has become a household brand of repute with their pieces gracing major red carpet events in and out of Nigeria by the A-list Celebrities in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry. Some including - The Academy (OSCARS) member and veteran Actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde.

Both the CEO- Nonye Goodie – Obi and her brand- Nonnistics have enjoyed major press in cover edition publications of top notch magazines and prominent fashion blogs in Nigeria.

Superstar Simi in a Wedding Dress for BM|Pro March 2019 Cover

 

Songbird Simi is the cover girl for BmPro covers this season .
While we are yet to see her officially in her white wedding outfit , this cover shoot for BM|Pro‘s March 2019 issue will do just fine .

In one of the photos, Simi is styled in a white dress from Nonnistics new bridal line . The dreamy dress is an off shoulder tease with a feathered shoulder detail is every bride's dream .

The Voice we love, belting out lyrics we love with that Afro-Naija-lingo we can easily relate with. Some of my faves are « Joromi, Love don’t care and O wa n’be (very apt for some!)
I’d always imagined having her in my chair but I was quite unprepared for the downward turn of events the day of our shoot—- Traffic and stress got the better part of the day and we almost canceled… We made it in the nick of time and when I saw her for the very first time, I was blown!!! She has the most beautiful Skin (Smooth, Spotless, Amazing Tone, Poreless!) and that body too!
I did a mental dance…
I had sent her measurements to Nonnistics who, thankfully, discarded my figures because what I sent was so wrong— She did her homework and came up with Simi’s exact fit— thank you Nonny.
Margaret (Psluxuryevents) designed thé set, incorporating accents that seemed impossible. But then again, that’s Margaret that dreams up the impossible and executes it even in the face of doubt. It was an amazing day, even though the studio almost became a concert venue! Fans everywhere!!!.
Everybody was starstruck, taking selfies even with the star doing other things, some were like Zombies, staring and almost falling off their seats! We then decided to be cliche and started belting our entire Simi playlist songs, to which she told me it makes her shy when people do that… aww!
I guess seeing the effect one’s fantastic body of work has on people Live Can be Intimidating! Everyone in Our security room must have had a laugh watching the CCTV playback! Lol
In between writing lyrics and getting ready to present us with her latest work, Mrs. Gold is a ball of energy, also very gentle but with a sharp wit! How they pulled off the most coded nuptials with just the closest and dearest present deserves all the accolades.
Nowadays she is back in the studio and almost wrapped up Production for her new album. What direction /genre will it be?

Nonnistics debuts The Black Diamond Collection.

The BLACK DIAMOND collection by Nonnistics is a monochrome themed collection inspired by our deep African heritage of the beautiful black skin with its glowing melanin, the irrepressible truth about the African Fashion Industry which has clearly risen from the dark ashes of obscurity to the clear rays of the sunlight. The continent of Africa as undeveloped and struggling as it may be, remains the world’s repository of ‘diamonds’ – rich in human and natural resources including the physical diamonds.

According to the creative director –Nnonye.....”Our fashion industry while making huge strides yet remains deeply untapped. Diamonds are found deep in the mud bed of oceans. To reach them, you would have to feel the dirt of the mud and wetness of the waters but when you have them, you have great value! And this is why my collection is named the THE BLACK DIAMOND COLLECTION”.....
