South Africa Apologises Over Xenophobic Attacks, Envoy meets Buhari

A formal apology was tendered to Nigeria on Monday by the President of South Africa, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa, over the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in his country.
He said the ugly incidents did not represent the values his country cherished.
Ramaphosa’s apology was delivered to President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja by a special envoy he sent with his Nigerian counterpart.
The envoy, Mr Jeff Radebe, came to see Buhari in company with the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Bobby Monroe, and two other officials.
Speaking with State House Correspondents after the meeting, Radebe said, “We met with President Buhari to convey President Ramaphosa’s sincerest apologies about the incidents that have recently transpired in South Africa.
“The incidents do not represent what we stand for as a constitutional democracy in South Africa and the President has apologised for these incidents.
“He has also instructed law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned to bring those involved to book.
“He (Ramaphosa) also conveyed his resolve of ensuring that both Nigeria and South Africa continued to play a critical role in the rebuilding of Africa to attend the agenda 2063; the Africa that we want.
“We also recalled with fun memories the historical times that exit between Nigeria and South Africa. During the dark days of apartheid, we knew that the Nigerian people and their government stood behind our leaders, who were fighting against the obnoxious system of apartheid.”
He noted that leaders on the African continent must use the crisis as an opportunity to “make sure that the scourge of unemployment, poverty and inequality in Africa is attended to by our leaders.”
Radebe added that during Buhari’s planned visit to South Africa on October 3, the two leaders would take advantage of the existing Bi-Mission Commission to “address all those issues of mutual concern about South Africa and Nigeria.”
When asked whether South would pay compensation to Nigerians whose property were either looted or set ablaze, the envoy replied that such issues would be tackled during Buhari’s visit.
He explained, “During President Buhari’s state visit to South Africa, there will be discussions there. I do understand that the issue of compensation and restitution is part of the agenda.
“We should wait until October 3 to see how that unfolds. But, I can indicate that as a lawyer, the South African laws require that all registered companies must have public insurance in terms of things of this nature.”
He added that up to 50 suspects had been arrested and would be prosecuted accordingly.
Speaking on why it took South Africa long time to address xenophobia, he said, “These incidents have been happening from time to time. As you know, we are still emerging from the system of apartheid, where according to statistics, the last unemployment rate was around 29 per cent.
“Some of these incidents occur in areas where there is poverty, unemployment and fight for scarce resources. But no amount of hunger, hardship, justifies the looting of property, killings of people, whether they are South Africans or foreigners. We regard that as an act of criminality.”

Kanye West Bans 6-Year-Old Daughter North From Wearing Makeup

Kanye West has banned his daughter North West from wearing makeup. Kim Kardashian revealed to E! News that the family patriarch has banned his 6-year-old daughter North West from wearing makeup.

“She loves makeup but her dad won’t let her wear it,” Kardashian said. “I think he had it; he changed all the rules. I’d let her wear, you know, she has a little red for Christmas, I’d let her wear a red lip, or I’d let her do one pop of something. I’d let her if she’s wearing a black dress, a black lip.”
North wore red lipstick to her family’s Christmas party last year, sported neon orange eyeliner to “SNL” and even snagged her first solo magazine cover on the Beauty Inc. edition of Women’s Wear Daily earlier this year.
North’s obsession with cosmetics runs so deep, in fact, that Kardashian previously revealed she often had to bribe her eldest daughter with lipstick just to get her to leave the house.
“So, I kind of got in trouble for that,” Kardashian continued. “So, it’s now no more makeup.”

I NEVER had a nose job, Its the Make up .....Kim Kardashian

  • Kim, 38, denied having rhinoplasty while getting her makeup done by Mario Dedivanovic during The Master Class in Los Angeles over the weekend
  • The reality star stressed that she 'never' had her nose done, despite everyone thinking that she has
  • She admitted the 'bump' on her nose looks bigger in some pictures compared to others
  • Mario said he uses makeup to contours Kim's nose and hide the 'small bump'
  • Over the past decade, Kim has been accused of having breast augmentation, butt implants, and liposuction, all of which she has denied
Kim Kardashian has been accused of having rhinoplasty for years, and while she understands why fans would think she has gone under the knife, she insists that's not the case.
The 38-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star spoke candidly about the appearance of her nose while getting her makeup done by Mario Dedivanovic at The Master Class in Los Angeles over the weekend.
'I never had my nose done,' she said. 'Everyone thought I did, and I said, "Wait until I have kids because your real features come out."'
She later attempted to clarify her rather perplexing explanation by tweeting: 'I said you will see when I have kids, they will have the same nose as me.' But that is how she denied all other jobs done on her body , right ?

Cleopatra, queen of ancient Egypt, bathed in asses’ milk for the good of her complexion, but here in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, an even more surprising treatment is on offer. Disrobing from their Gucci or Oscar de la Renta outfits, the ladies who lunch lie naked in baths of crude oil, believing that the warming effects of 40C crude cure skin diseases, rheumatism, arthritis and even ‘nerves’.

Medical science says that, beyond ten minutes, the effects are more likely to be carcinogenic.

Oil is everywhere in Baku, even the spas. It is in the sharp, acrid taste of the wind blowing in from the Caspian and in the army of derricks marching far out to sea. Solidified into glass and concrete, it is changing everything in this ancient town once known for dusty streets and traditional carpets, creating instead a city of staggering ostentation.

GISTVILLE- Italian Fashion Brand, Ermenegildo Zegna Set to Open Outlet in Lagos

Whichever way you look at the entrance to the Didi private museum in this city’s Victoria Island area, the announcement in the window is clear: “Ermenegildo Zegna opening soon.”

Before the end of this year the Italian men’s wear superbrand will have pioneered its strategic plan to open stores across Africa — in countries where other luxury giants have not yet dared to go. It now has four stores on the continent: in Marrakesh, Casablanca, Cape Town and Johannesburg. That compares to 13 stores in cities across the Middle East.

Zegna, which already has opened stores in North Africa — in Cairo and Casablanca — now has a strategy.
After Lagos, a store is planned for Luanda, Angola, in 2013; Alexandria, Egypt, in 2014; and three other sites are being evaluated in Libya, Kenya and Algeria.
Gildo Zegna, chief executive of the Zegna Group, who is introducing in Milan this week an “Uomo” fragrance in a new partnership with Estée Lauder, has seen the opportunity to sell upscale men’s wear in a continent of peacock males.
The Zegna strategy may also influence the geographic positioning of luxury stores in Lagos, which does not yet have a cluster of high-end stores. Zegna’s street-level spot in the museum building, at 175 Akin Adesola Street, is likely to become the country’s epicenter of luxury shopping.

 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZZJGhYm05YRtbQsAXzEfVsQppxw8k2l9bNewjQ3NHJfoGQVTjvdHeweo3eFDTLemOy0r51H9-0Pd4jZiFA0QWGIlxHm8cIqcmUAu7PBXIIF4sPh27MrpFjv8RXr6GW6DwhWzClyWKei8/s1600/ZEGNA-ESSENZE-COLLECTION.jpg

The new collection of fragrances are called Essenze by Ermenegildo Zegna and slated for launch this December as well . The new fragrance is an added reference to the high-end men’s Ermenegildo Zegna Couture collection that is renowned for its luxury fabrics and impeccable tailoring. The Essenze collection will showcase a signature with more raw materials that will build the base for these male scents. These five fragrances will be packaged in glass bottles that come with a Zegna fabric label with corresponding coloured border that will reflect the keynotes of each individual scent. These fragrances will retail for approximately N40,000 per bottle.

Nevertheless, the new Essenze range of fragrances will allow men who are looking to be distinctively sophisticated to look and feel great not only just their Zegna outfits, but also goes one step further make you smell confident.
