4 Ways To Save A Bad Hair Day

Once in a while, we all experience a bad hair day. A bad hair day can occur because you simply do not feel like doing your hair, you try a new hairstyle that doesn’t come out so well, or your hair acts like it has a mind of its own. Instead of giving up your tresses, there are a few things you can do to correct this problem.

Here are four quick ways to save your lovely tresses:

Disguise under a Scarf or Hat

When you do not feel like doing your hair or you want to tuck your hair away for a day, putting on a hat or a scarf is a great option. You can easily cover disastrous bad hair day with a pretty scarf simply tied around your tresses. Or, you can take it to another level by wearing a hat such as a fedora or large brim hit.

Emergency Ponytail/Bun

Ladies, we all have woken up to a failed attempt of a new hairdo or to a product not working as it should. It’s time to grab your bobby pins and an elastic band for a messy bun or a ponytail. The bun and ponytail are easiest and quickest hairstyle you can do. If you want to spice it up, add a headband to look more stylish.

Layer on the Accessories

When you have a cute accessory, there is no way your hair will look a mess. So, make sure you always have a lot of hair accessories. Headbands, turbans, barrettes, head wraps, oversized bows, and oversized flowers are all worth investing in.

Be Bold and Work It

Looking perfect 24/7 is a hard thing to do and sometimes impossible to do. If you don’t want to wear a hat, an accessory, or your hair in a bun, just work with what you got. Be confident with your hair whether one side of your hair isn’t agreeing with the other or you hair has a static cling to it. We all can’t look like a cover of a magazine every single day.

How do you deal with bad hair days?

Trend To Try: HeadPieces

After a while, it can be a pain trying to come up with new ways to switch up your hairstyles, but headpieces are a simple way to give your mane a new look without much work. With winter hats put away, the headpieces have come out, and depending on which style you choose, you can either use the head jewelry to dress up your look or dress it down.

There are three basic varieties of head pieces:

Gold chain

This is the most common type and basically features a three-way adornment through the center and outer perimeter of the head. This style looks good with anything from maxi dresses to jeans and a t-shirt because it’s as casual as a headband but more unique and attention-grabbing.

 Jeweled

Celebrities like Alicia Keys, Nicole Richie  and Kim K are fans of the bedazzled type of headpiece which really has more of an impact on your overall wardrobe. The jewels in the piece add elegance and sophistication to your look, making it perfect for formal evening events.

Braided

The braided headpiece can be worn on top of the hair like the others. Either way, this style has a more natural appeal that’s cute and casual. There’s not a whole lot that goes into pulling off this trend. You can wear your hair down straight or with waves which creates a soft, feminine look. With your hair back in a low or high bun, the style becomes more dramatic with the headpiece as the focus. Basically, you can rock this accessory anyway you want.

Trends To Try: Pastels

Colors like mint green, lavender, candy pink and sky blue are all the rage this spring. Pastel hues were all over the spring runways of Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, and Oscar de la Renta.
Sweet pastel shades can easily add a whimsical quality to your outfit. But, you want to avoid looking too childish or too elderly with the pastel trend.

Pastels can be a tricky color combo to wear. Here are some tips to give the light colored clothing a refreshing, stylish look:

Wear pastels from head-to-toe. Make sure you choose apparel with a streamlined shape such as a pale colored pantsuit. The mix of the pastels with a menswear inspired ensemble is a great combination.

You can pair pastels with bright colors: Bright colors are as popular as pastels this season. You can try color blocking by pair a pale yellow pencil skirt with a lemon colored tank.

Mix pastels with darker neutrals: If you aren’t so bold, mix pastels with  black, navy, charcoal gray, or brown. Pair a dark colored blazer with a pale shirt and add some jeans you already have in your closet.

Add black accessories: If pastels are a bit too girly for you to give off a you more of a tough girl look.
When considering pastels, pick colors that look good on you in order to find your pastel equivalent.
The feminine color palette has may the styling possibilities and a great addition to anyone’s current wardrobe. Pastels are popping up on everything from accessories to nail polish.

OMG!!! 12 Beauty Mistakes That Turn Men Off

FRAGRANCE OVERLOAD

If you're anything like us, you've been misting on (and misting on...) Prada Candy since the day it landed on your vanity. But if your boyfriend is anything like ours, he'll tell you that too much of a good thing is a bad thing. Here are the numbers you need to know: No more than three (3) sprays for an eau de perfume, four (4) for an eau de toilette.

 CAKED-ON BASE

Painting layers of foundation, tinted moisturizer, concealer, and powder on your face will rub off on your collar...and his. Stick with a lightweight foundation, remove any obvious makeup with a damp sponge, and dab concealer just over blemishes or redness. Men and their dry-cleaning bills will thank you.

OVERDONE EYELASHES

When poorly done, the Kardashian effect can turn into the spidery effect. We're talking clumpy, flaky, and otherwise arachnid-esque. A few falsies applied to the outer corners make your eyes look wide, innocent, and sexy, without looking like they could walk on their own.

DRY SKIN

There is nothing less sexy than dry legs, rough elbows, and chapped everything. Fake hot, humid, summery skin by slathering on body lotion as soon as you step out of the shower. He won't be able to keep his hands off you

A SLOPPY SHAVE

Shave at night for the most precise finish (your legs swell as you sleep, so you'll miss hairs if you shave in the morning) and use a new blade. Doing so will also help you avoid those annoying red razor bumps.

YELLOW-TINGED TEETH

Who wants to kiss someone with graying or yellowing teeth? For a bright, white, healthy-looking smile, use a treatment like whitening paste.

 STICKY LIP GLOSS

There are lip glosses that moisturize with a subtle sheen, and there are those that are so sticky they could glue together broken glass. Keep your lips kissable with a gloss.

STIFF HAIR

No man is going to be able to run his fingers through your hair if it's knotted in a bun, pulled into a twist, flaky, or otherwise high-maintenance-looking. Go for a more approachable hairstyle, like easy waves, half up, or a pretty ponytail.

SMOKY-EYE OVERLOAD

It starts off innocently enough: It's just you, an eye-shadow palette, and a mirror. But things can get ugly fast when heavy, dark shadows are piled on top of each other. Create a subtle, sexy smoky eye by slightly smudging black eyeliner along the rims of your eyes.

 BOLD LIPSTICK

That one's too bright, that one's too dark—when it comes to lipstick shades, men are like Goldilocks. And it's hard to blame them when every kiss carries the risk of clown face. Keep lips simple with a neutral pink lipstick.

HAIR ADD-INS

Guys like us to keep things pretty simple. Keep accessories on your handbag and jewelry, and leave the feathers, extensions, tinsel, bells, and whistles to Kesha and reality-TV celebrities.

NEON, DARK, AND PATTERNED MANICURES

If your manicure is black, glittery, glows in the dark, or is any combination thereof, men are intimidated or just kind of freaked out. Play it safe with a timeless red  or a pale neutral.

TRENDS TO TRY: SHEER TOPS

The idea of wearing something sheer may either intrigue or scare the average fashionista. However, sheer tops are a romantic and feminine way to dress up any outfit as long as you put something underneath.

These delicate, airy tops are comfortable to wear and easy to layer. Whether you decide to wear a sheer blouse or a sheer tank, you want to avoid having a “stripper moment” that is get caught baring it all in public.

Before you grab a sheer top without putting a bra underneath, we have a few ways to make your sheer tops fun and not trashy.

Put It Over a Top: You can add texture to a basic solid colored tank or camisole by layering it with a sheer top. Or, you can pair a simple sheer top with a pattern tank.

Pair with a Blazer: You can wear a buttoned blazer with a sheer top underneath.

Let Your Bra Be the Highlight: If you want to be bold and sexy without going too far, you can wear a bra underneath a sheer top. To up your style game, look for dark colored or embellished bras instead of matching it with an everyday bra.
See through tops are perfect for a night out on the town or a casual outing. Depending on the level of transparency, the sheer blouse trend can transition into work apparel as well. When sheer is executed correctly, it gives a sultry vibe to your overall look.
