Urban-Nigerian Youth publication, Y! Magazine has unveiled details on the inaugural edition of its annual black ball.
The end of the year celebration will
take place on Sunday 16th December 2012 at the Crystal Ballroom,
Landmark Events Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking on the event, Y! Managing Editor, Adebola Williams said “Y!
Magazine has kept its promise as a cultural connoisseur – presenting
the best and the finest of Nigerian entertainment, lifestyle and issues.
What this event does is celebrate another year for young trendsetters –
great wine, fine dining, the best company delivered with the
sophistication of the Y! brand. We are grateful to BlackBerry,
continuing its tradition of driving connectivity and networking, for
presenting this first edition.”
The event will be hosted by MI Abaga and the 3LiveChicks co-presenters, Oreka Godis and Tosyn Bucknor.Dress code for the event is black with
masks – the organizers will present guests with masks at the venue. The
black carpet will be covered by the Nigerian fashion police crew, GlamSquad, led by style editor, Latasha Ngwube.
According to a rep for Y!, the full
guest list will be unveiled to BellaNaija.com, YNaija.com and
360Nobs.com on Wednesday 12th December 2012.
At the event, the re-modeled Y! Magazine
will be presented to all – with a first of its kind cover identity as
well as content re-energized for its audience. All attendees will
receive the first edition of the auto-graphed magazines. The annual Y!
Best Dressed list, which will profile 20 young celebrities who define
the style and look of a generation, will also be unveiled.
The timeless Cinderella fairytale will come alive on the evening. Soulful singer, Praiz,
will search for his Cinderella, with the perfect silver shoes in his
hand, and the lucky lady will be serenaded with a love song. A beautiful
lady will also search for her prince charming with a royal sapphire
ring in her hands.
Guests are advised to dress their best,
so as to be chosen as king and queen of the black ball. Winners will
take home premium BlackBerry phones while guests will get Christmas
gifts.
