Rutgers University Offers Course on Beyonce

Rutgers University is currently offering a course called "Politicizing Beyoncé." Kevin Allred, a post-doc in the department of Women's and Gender studies, explains that he uses the singer's music, on-stage persona and personal life to examine race, gender and politics in Amerca. "She certainly pushes boundaries," Allred explained on the Rutgers news site. "While other artists are simply releasing music, she's creating a grand narrative around her life, her career, and her persona."
